I enjoyed the class and did gain a lot from it. It did start at a beginner level but the instructor made it very understandable and doable. She helped greatly by demonstrating what she was asking us to draw. Her individual critique was amazingly helpful.

Title or Location: Sunset on our kitchen counter on NW side of the Indianapolis.
Sometimes the best art opportunities last only a few moments. That's why I have my Iphone 14 with me at all times, even in our kitchen. This is a natural image. The water glass was on our kitchen counter as the early Spring sunset streamed across our patio, through the sliding doors and ultimately through the glass. It wasn't moved to "make it better." It created a wonderful high contrast backlit abstract. The light lasted only a few moments. The only post processing was converting it to a high

Title or Location: My studio
Been sitting on this one for a little bit because it was/is a 10 year wedding anniversary gift. Orchids are the brides favorite flower. One of the requests was for this color scheme on a five leaf flower. I didn?t find any so I possibly made up a new variety of orchid :) The buyer did not see it until finished and on the date of their anniversary. I appreciate the trust. It?s been sitting in my studio space finished for about two weeks, I?ll miss having it here. 30x40 inch oil paint

Title or Location: ?Blossom Air?
?Blossom Air? was inspired by the first warm days of spring here in Indianapolis. I wanted to capture that quiet moment when the blossoms seem to lift into the sky and the whole city feels lighter. The piece is about renewal, softness, and the gentle shift into a new season. I painted it as a reminder of how even small moments in nature can open up space for calm.

The gorgeous Colibri! She is visually stunning and an audible treasure. Also called a ?Violetear? hummingbird, they are found in Mexico, Central America and Western South America. What a songbird! Their song is loud and long lasting and often contains double notes! I created this pastel painting to enjoy the beauty. This is based on a free reference photo by Sebascordero on WordPress Directory.

Title or Location: Poppies
I approach my art, by not limiting myself to any one style or medium. It is important to experiment and find what works best for me, both technically and creatively. I like to push my boundaries and experiment with varying styles and mediums. i got great enjoyment painting these poppies as it was something new for me. I rarely have used Gouche paint and painting flowers is was a new subject matter. I enjoyed it so much that I created a series of flower paintings.

Title or Location: Multnomah Falls
This is a 5x10 value practice using Multnomah Falls as subject. This is also the first time ever painting this iconic beauty. One can have a great subject, vibrant colors, and lots of details, but without proper values it's flat and un realistic if that's what your seeking.
